LIVINGSTONIA BEACH HOTEL
The hotel is situated in a picturesque, secluded
setting on the shores of Lake Malawi, 128 km from Lilongwe International
Airport. Here the only sounds to be heard are the haunting cries of the
fish eagle and the lapping of the water. The wide range of accommodation
includes large, en-suite, individually decorated thatched rondavels,
each with colour satellite TV, set in semi-tropical gardens where guests
step out of the door onto the 1,8 km private beach. In the beamed
table-d'hôte restaurant a speciality is fresh fish from the lake. Light
meals are served on the well-shaded terrace around the swimming-pool.
Facilities include a library, tennis, water-skiing, boats for hire, and
boat excursions to the hippo pools and a tropical fish farm. Conference

NKOPOLA LODGE
This picturesque lakeside resort is located in a
tranquil setting on the south-west shore of Lake Malawi, between Monkey
Bay and Mangochi. The hillside rooms, perched on the rocks, offer
splendid views over the lake. The beachside rooms have private patios
and are equipped with sun-loungers. The rondavels, set among landscaped
gardens, are well designed for families. All rooms have colour satellite
TV. Activities include biking (bikes are available for hire),
scuba-diving, snorkelling, sailing, wind-surfing, water-skiing and
cruising to nearby Bird Island and Cape Maclear. Traditional dances and
an alfresco barbeque are a feature on 'Speciality Nights'. Conference
facilities cater for up to 70 delegates.

KAYA MAWA LODGE
Situated in the north-east of Lake Malawi on Likoma
Island, Kaya Mawa Lodge is surrounded by ancient baobabs, sandy beaches
and rocky coves. Meaning “Maybe tomorrow” in the local Tonga dialect,
the lodge was built entirely by hand.
Seven stone and teak-framed thatch
cottages are set into a granite headland, creating a unique ambience
within the natural surroundings. Each cottage faces the crystal-clear
waters of the lake and has a mahogany four-poster bed, a sunken stone
bath, shower and private terraces. The honeymoon house is tucked away on
its own private island, accessible only by boat.
Activities include
scuba- diving, PADI diving courses, snorkelling, sailing and visits to
the local villages.
