CAMP KWANDO
Situated 400 km east of Rundu and 100 km west of
Katima Mulilo, lies Camp Kwando, 28 km south from the village of Kongola.
The island accommodates twelve thatched tents, each one with two beds.
Every bed is equipped with a mosquito net. Built on poles with a terrace
overlooking the river, these bungalows will allow you to do some fishing
from the deck. Also available are three larger bungalows (tree houses)
available on higher ground. Each bungalow has a large bedroom, en-suite
bathroom and expanding terrace. Camping sites are also provided. The lodge has its own flat bottom
aluminum boat
that can take up to fourteen persons for trips on the Kwando river. A
specially equipped Land Rover allows for game drives into neighbouring
parks. For the adventurous angler, the Tiger Fish can be caught in the
waters of the Kwando. The camps proximity to the Mamili National Park,
famous for its wilderness, allows field trips to be organised to get a
taste of the real bush life. A three day excursion to Mamili will let
one experience true exceptional adventure. |

NAMUSHASHA LODGE
24km south of
Kongola in the East Caprivi. A luxury bush lodge with 27 luxury en-suite
bungalows. All bungalows fitted with mosquito nets. Situated on the
banks of the Kwando River, overlooking a tranquil hippo pool, with over
300 recorded bird species in abundance.
Boat trips and fishing trips on the Kwando river or game drives in the
West Caprivi Game Park is a popular pastime. A 4km hiking trail promise
to surprise with birdlife and interesting flora. The lodge has a small
pool, bar, sundowner deck, curioshop and buffet restaurant.
A gravel airstrip with co-ordinates S 17.59 E 23.17 is
available and a low-level flight over the camp will activate pick-ups.
Namushasha is a real unspoilt African experience with luxury facilities
in very scenic surrounds. Attractions in the area include Mudumo and
Mamili Parks, Lizauli Traditional Village and Mashi Craft Centre.
