Wolwedans, which takes its name from the African - "where the wolves dance", is situated in the heart of NamibRand Nature Reserve, just south of Sossusvlei. Nestled amidst red dunes and set against a backdrop of unparalleled beauty, Wolwedans provides the perfect base from which to explore vast stretches of awe-inspiring nature and learn about an exciting variety of desert creatures.

A two to three night stay at Wolwedans truly enhances any holiday to Namibia, regardless whether you are driving yourself or opt to fly in by plane. Wolwedans is located some 70 km's south of Sesriem (Sossusvlei) and can be reached with a normal car. Accommodation is catered for to meet guests' different expectations and preferred levels of comfort in either the intimate Dune Camp, Dune Lodge, Private Camp or Mountain View Suite. It is here, in this land of stretching blue skies and endless plains, that you will find beauty to feed your soul, tranquility to clear your mind and space for your imagination to fly.

WOLWEDANS DUNE CAMP

Positioned on the edge of a 250-metre high dune, the Dune Camp sleeps a maximum of 12 guests in a totally unspoilt setting. Guests stay in comfortable dome-shaped tents pitched on wooden platforms, each furnished with standard beds (covered with down duvets), bedside tables and a suitcase rack. A spacious veranda, allowing for safe sleep-outs under the stars, and a private bathroom fitted with a hot shower, two washbasins and flush toilet make for a rather civilized camping experience.

The lapa is comprised of a lounge, dining area and an open-plan kitchen, which allows guests to chat to the chef while he is preparing three course dinners. The sundowner deck with its elevated fireplace is the central meeting point of the camp providing a  relaxed ambience. Whilst the lodge aims at accommodating guests in need of relaxed comfort and space, the camp is a more down-to-earth and close to nature experience. The camp requires a minimum stay of two nights.

WOLWEDANS DUNE LODGE

The Dunes Lodge is perched on top of a dunes plateau some eight kilometers north of the Dune Camp and overlooks panoramic vistas in all directions, capturing the desert in a most memorable way.

The building style is a combination of wooden structures, large canvas blinds and windows that open up to the desert beyond. The lodge reflects the ambience of a tented camp, but provides the comfort and protection of a permanent building. Each of the nine spacious Chalets with en-suite bathrooms leads onto a private veranda and vast stretches of untouched sand. Sleeping with your canvas blinds open is as good as sleeping under the stars. The main complex consists of two lounges, a number of sundowner decks, a fireplace, a tea deck, a library, swimming pool, the wine cellar and two dining rooms. All communal areas of the lodge open out onto verandahs with superb views.

WOLWEDANS PRIVATE CAMP

Situated in the quiet seclusion of an idyllic valley, this splendid Suite caters for four guests exclusively. It is the perfect getaway for honeymooners or individuals seeking uncompromising privacy and solitude.

The idea of the Private Camp is to get away for a day or two - not doing much except spending quality time with a partner or friends. Guided activities are not part of the package and the emphasis is on pure relaxation. Browsing through the library, taking walks in the plains and preparing your own meals (all foods and beverages are supplied, you cook and serve 'entre-nous') will keep you fully occupied. Private Camp - your 'home away from home' - comprises two spacious bedrooms, two bathrooms, a veranda and the lounge, combining a study, the living-room, a dining area and a fully equipped open plan kitchen. The building style is a combination of wood and canvas, which opens into the nature beyond.

WOLWEDANS MOUNTAIN VIEW SUITE

The Suite is located within walking distance from the Wolwedans Dunes Lodge, yet it's secluded and nestled amidst a magnificent dunes landscape. It allows friends of Wolwedans to spend more than two nights in a homely and stylish atmosphere with ample space, maximum comfort and a high degree of privacy.

The Suite consists of a spacious bedroom with a king-size bed, allowing guests to enjoy the view of their private dune valley to the fullest. The en-suite bath - room contains two wash basins, a shower and toilet. A shaded patio provides an ideal venue for meals and relaxed hours in the shade floating about in a hammock. Add to this a spacious lounge, bar and dining area and you have a wonderful home away from home. An east-facing veranda and sundeck lead from the platform into the surrounding dunes. The main veranda has a 'star-gazing' bed, which provides a wonderful sleep-out venue during summer.
