8 Day Tanzania Northern Circuit Safari

Day 1
Arusha. Pick up from airport by your guide and transfer to Karama Lodge for overnight.

Day 2
Depart to Tarangire National Park. After breakfast depart to Tarangire National Park. Afternoon game drive. Tarangire National Park gets its name from the river that threads its way through it. The park has one of the highest animal concentrations during the dry season. Herds of elephants, buffalos, wildebeest, zebras, giraffes, and Elands, leopards can bee seen all through the year. For the bird enthusiast, the park offers over 300 species of birds. The vegetation in Tarangire is primarily acacia, mixed woodland, dense elephant grass along the river and numerous baobab trees. Continue to Lake Natron for overnight. [BLD]

Day 3
Lake Manyara National Park. Depart to Manyara National Park for a full day game drive. Lake Manyara Nat. Park is well known for its tree-climbing lions. The park covers 390 km2 and is sanctuary to over 400 species of bird that include the pink flamingos, pelicans, storks, Ibis and Egyptian Geese. There is also a huge herd of buffalo and elephant. Day 4
Serengeti National Park. After breakfast proceed to Serengeti National Park. Visit Olduvai Gorge where the Leakey family discovered the "Early East African Man" . [BLD]

Day 5
Serengeti National Park. Spend the day doing game drives in the park. The Serengeti is renowned for its annual wildebeest migration and large predator population. From February to May, a herd of over a million wildebeests migrates for the Western corridor of the park in search of greener pastures. Serengeti's' other common animals include lions, leopards, zebras, Thompson gazelles, impala, Grant's gazelles and buffalos. Most of the park is open grassland broken by isolated granite kopies (hills) and patches of acacias woodlands. [BLD]

Day 6
Ngorongoro Crater. After breakfast depart on a game drive and onto the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Game viewing from the rim. [BLD]

Day 7
Ngorongoro Crater. Today you will do a half-day tour of Ngorongoro crater. One of the World largest Calderas, 20 km wide, Ngorongoro Crater is also one of the best Wildlife viewing areas where Black Rhinos can be seen in Tanzania. The crater at 2.286 m above sea level is the largest unbroken Calderas in the world. Surrounded by very steep walls, rising 610 m from the crate floor, it covers 260 km2 and is home to over 30.000 animals, almost half of them being zebra and wildebeest. Ngorongoro is listed as a World Heritage site. [BLD]

Day 8
Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha. Depart after breakfast for Arusha for your flight or shuttle connection. End of Tour. [BL]
