Rolling green hills dotted with traditional dwellings clinging to the slopes like barnacles on a rock, towering cliffs, waterfalls tumbling down to the sea, swathes of glorious beaches – all this and more makes up the stretch of Eastern Cape coastline known as the Wild Coast.

This little patch of paradise is still governed by the rhythms of Africa, and a wealth of new sights, sounds and experiences await the discerning traveler. Take time to stand and stare . . . .the rewards will be yours.

For the real adrenalin junkie, activities ranging from abseiling to hold-on-to-your-seat 4 x 4 adventure trails can be organized. Leisure activities include guided quad bike tours, kayaking, and of course, fishing. Whether you are a seasoned angler or a novice, you’ll have plenty of opportunity to enjoy some fine rock and surf fishing. If you need a gillie (fisherman’s assistant) to assist you with finding bait, or just the right spot from which to cast your line – this is easily arranged.

Guided tours to the local village give guests an opportunity to experience traditional rural Xhosa hospitality and include a visit to a local school and a shebeen ( Xhosa pub).

Hiking is one of the most popular activities along this stretch of coastline, and there are a variety of trails to choose from.
