Hogsback

The area is known for indigenous forests, waterfalls and trout fishing. The large gardens in the surrounding area also include exotic plants from all parts of the Earth, and it is a popular destination and tourist attraction among both International and South African tourists. Apart from 'the Hogsback', the tallest peak in the area is the 1 954 m Gaika's Kop.

There's no doubt: walking is the biggest thing in Hogsback (after doing absolutely nothing at all, of course) with many marked trails of varying degrees of difficulty. Pick up a Trails map from reception and head out to the Tyume Indigenous Forests, the Upper Plateau, Hogsback Central or into the Mountains, where you'll find everything from a pleasant stroll in the Arboretum to a very difficult, 6 hour-long climb to Hog 1.
Hog 1, Hog 2 and Hog 3 are the three ridges from which Hogsback gets its name. And while you're out, you may want to visit one of the beautiful waterfalls – Kettle Spout, Madonna & Child, Upper Tyume or Swallowtail.

Other activities in the area include horse riding, mountain biking, bowls, interesting outings, beauty and wellness and much more.
