Sabi Sand Game Reserve

The Sabi Sand Game Reserve, a 65 000 hectare wildlife sanctuary, is made up of an association of freehold landowners. The land is unfenced between the landowners, and the animals are free to roam unhindered through the conservancy. The reserve shares a 50km unfenced boundary with the Kruger National Park in the east. Two perennial rivers, the Sand and the Sabie, provide the reserve with a valuable water supply, ensuring that the area enjoys one of the most bio-diverse wildlife populations in Africa. The Sabi Sand Game Reserve contains numerous private, luxury lodges, often still owned by descendants of the original pioneers of the association.

This area is also in the process of being further enlarged within the Peace Park concept with an expected integration and amalgamation with protected areas in Mozambique, and eventually Zimbabwe.

Wildlife viewing is second to none. The Sabi Sand Reserve enjoys good quality viewing of leopard as well as elephant, lion, rhino, buffalo, cheetah, giraffe, zebra and a vast variety of antelope and other species. In fact, a checklist of the reserve would yield no fewer than 330+ tree species, 45+ fish species, 30+ amphibian species, 110+ reptile species, 500+ bird species and 145+ mammal species.

Sabi Sand Reserve boasts a selection of superb lodges which are masters in the field of hospitality - perfecting what has become known as the luxury photographic safari experience. Beautiful accommodations, breathtaking landscapes, fine cuisine, skilled and personable guides & rangers are but a few of the aspects that a visitor may expect to enjoy. Each lodge has something unique to offer.
