Erongo Rocks Campsite is nestled in the secluded and wild Erongo Mountains, one of Namibia's hidden gems. This isolated area offers unique treasures, from the rare indigenous small black mongoose to the majestic Verreaux's eagle soaring over the magnificent landscape. Nature enthusiasts will find something special here.
Located within the Erongo Mountain Nature Sanctuary, the campsite is accessible without a 4x4 vehicle. It is ideally situated 40 km west on the D2315, between Etosha National Park, Windhoek, and Swakopmund, with the nearest town being Omaruru.
The farm features five campsites, each providing a unique setting, privacy, shared ablutions, a braai area, and majestic views. Note that none of the campsites have electricity, so be sure to charge your appliances beforehand.
There is also the self-catering option available of booking out the farmhouse on an exclusive use basis with up to seven guests able to occupy the the house.
The spectacular landscape of this privately owned farm invites exploration and discovery. A network of jeep tracks and well-marked trails is available for your leisure. These tracks and trails are perfect for hiking, trail running, mountain biking, bird watching, and photography. Plan ahead and book a guided hike to view ancient rock art and visit the most scenic parts of the farm. The farm is home to a variety of free-roaming game and birdlife, some of which are endemic to the Erongo Mountains.
