Fish River Canyon Hike Namibia
Fish River Canyon Hike

The Fish River Canyon hiking trail, winding through one of the largest canyons in the world, is ranked one of the best hiking trails in Southern Africa. It is open annually from May to September.

The walk which starts close to Hobas Camp is approximately 85 km long, and usually takes between 4-5 days to complete. Overwhelming vistas unfold as you descend into the depth of the canyon. The trail then winds along the Fish River amidst steep canyon walls, which gradually give way to open plains where the hardy desert horses seek refuge in the dry season.

The trail ends at the Ai-Ais Resort where a cold beverage and relaxing soak in the hot springs offers a welcome relief from the days spent on the hiking trail. Klipspringer Camp caters for group bookings up to 27 people.
