Located 211 km from Buitepos (the border to eastern Namibia) and 285 km from Maun, Ghanzi is the administrative town of the Ghanzi district and an important refueling and overnight stop between Windhoek (Namibia) and Maun.
Most of the eastern half of Ghanzi makes up the Central Kalahari Game Reserve.
Ghanzi has grown into a considerable large town and offers a number of service stations, banks, restaurants, lodges and a shopping mall.
