Keetmanshoop Accommodation

Keetmanshoop is the most important center of the Karakul sheep farming community in Namibia. It is located in the Fish River Region of southern Namibia, lying on the Trans-Namib Railway from Windhoek to Upington in South Africa.

It is named after Johann Keetman, a German industrialist and benefactor of the city.

Highlights in the area include a visit to the Naute Dam, the farm Spitskop Ost with its Mesosaurus fossils, the Giant's Playground, as well as the Quiver-tree forest, where visitors can view a rare cluster of the unique Aloe dichotoma and the Brukkaros Mountain a bit further north, an extinct volcano measuring 1,590 meters above sea level.
