Khutse Game Reserve Campsites Botswana
Campsites
25

Khutse Game Reserve has a series of rather picturesque pans where wildlife often congregates, particularly during and following good rains; and indeed game drives are focused around the pans.

There are five campgrounds within Khutse Game Reserve, the biggest is Khutse Pan with 10 individual sites, and then smaller campgrounds with 4 individual sites each at Mahurushele Pan, Molose Pan, Moreswe Pan and Khankhe Pan. The following facilities are available at some of the campsites:  A pit latrine, a shower bucket and borehole water (not for consumption) which is provided at each of the entrance gates. All campsites are complete self-catering permitting a maximum of 8 people and 3 vehicles.

Entrance to the reserve is gained by the Southern Gate, which is located 3.5 hours drive from Kang and 2.5 hours drive from Gaborone, or from the Central Kalahari Game Reserve which borders exactly on the north of Khutse, with no border fence.

A minimum 2 nights stay is strongly recommended in the reserve, as maximum speed limits of 40 km/h and thick sand make for slow driving. A 4x4 vehicle is compulsory.
