Tau Pan Camp was named after the famous Tau Pan which is located inside the Central Kalahari Game Reserve and which is most recognised for its expressive beauty and remoteness. ‘Tau’ which means lion in Setswana, is so named for the pride of iconic black-maned Kalahari lions who frequent the pan.
The camp comprises 8 safari chalets and one family tent. The units were built on raised decks in order to enable amazing views over the plains. Guests can also experience an unforgettable night under the stars while making use of the sleep-out deck. The deck offers a double bed and amenities like a basin and a toilet.
Additional facilities include an outside fire place with views on the waterhole and surrounded by a bar, lounge, dining area and curio shop.
Activities offered at Tau Pan are game drives, day trips to the well-known Deception Valley, Sunday, Piper and Passarge Pans, star gazing, and nature walks with Bushman trackers.
